Who are we?

Pinnacle Ski and Sports began as Bedside Tuners in 1984. We started as a ski tuning service, picking up equipment from local lodges at night and returned it in the morning with professionally sharpened edges, a fresh wax, and a signature blueberry muffin waving from the tips neatly wrapped in a sandwich baggy. Few customers knew the skis were tuned in an unheated barn where a block of ice set in a bucket a few feet from the only source of heat, a battered wood stove, would sit unmelted for days on end. To get the business off the ground we worked day jobs, pouring every penny we earned into rent and equipment, and tuned skis at night. After a year in the less than heated barn we made the leap, and opened a storefront. Working double shifts and twelve hour days, with the help of our incredibly loyal staff, we grew the business into a larger building with a better location in 2001.

Today Pinnacle Ski and Sports stands as one of the largest dealers of the Marmot clothing line on the east coast and we've has extended our brand offerings into Icebreaker, Spyder, Lowe, Decente, Under Armour, and Hestra, to name a few of our many products. As one of the first to enthusiastically adopt helmets Pinnacle fits hundreds of skiers into new helmets every year, and offers a full line of sound systems to keep you rocking on the slope. And we now offers an online storefront for the convenience of those who prefer to shop at home.

Keeping with our philosophy of providing the best ski experience possible for our customers, our rental fleet is turned over every year so customers are skiing on the latest in shaped equipment, and the demo ski fleet covers everything from the intermediate looking to improve in the sport to the advanced racer looking to gain that extra edge. Our sister store, Innerbootworks, are masters of the feet, professional boot fitters with an international reputation for fine tuning the fit of a ski boot to perfection.

But more importantly, thanks in large part to our staff, Pinnacle enjoys a reputation in the sports industry and the community for its integrity and community involvement. Pinnacle's alumni include nationally recognized leaders in snow sports including Bud Keene, coach of the US Olympic Snowboard Team. Pinnacle employees and alumni are entrepreneurs, educators, artists and, of course, active skiers and sports enthusiasts.

But more importantly, they are active and enthusiastic supporters of Pinnacle's ongoing success, returning year after year to champion the business to friends, family, and colleagues. We're flattered they've remained loyal to us.. and proud to be part of their lives.
